Day 1 in Prague - Primo giorno a Praga

So I finally decided to open a blog...well, the fact is that I love writing and I love talking about my interests, first of all: vintage!
A year ago I decided to switch to a vintage style, in particoular from 1940s (my absolutely favourite era) to 1950s. I have always been fashinated by these past eras: since I was a child I loved staring at old photos of my grandma indeed. I started wearing a pin up style sometimes at theme parties, then doing it more often with more details, my friends and my boyfriend have always complimented me, but not only them, sometimes happened that stranger people came to me to pay a kind compliment!

Eventually I decided to start wearing a retro style every day of my life, not caring what people might think but focusing on how I feel and, well...I feel very comfortable and happy! And you know what? I found out that many people are interested in this style too and they appreciate it, this delights me.

I decided to open this personal space writing about my recent stay in Prague, a very special city that has been able to surprise me!

The first day we didn't actually see much things, this is because we arrived in the afternoon but we had enough time to take a first view of the castle and the surrounding square.

On this occasion I decided to wear a comfortable and light dress, it's a original 1950s vintage dress bought at this year "Vintage Roots" Festival, one of the retro festivals you can join here in Italy in June. I found it at the stand of a vintage shop named “Fermata d'autobus" (www.fermatadautobus.com), it had really beautiful pieces, so I hope to come back the next year or to go in Tuscany, where this shop is located.
I simply embellished it with a modern brooch (oh, I love brooches!) and a basic leather belt 'cause the pattern of the dress is quite decorative so the dress in my opinion don't need anything else.

In conclusion some pics we took that day enclosed below. Till next time! :-*

  1. Hello Irene,

Both the pictures and the dress are very nice.

I was wondering if you could share the best places, in your opinion, to buy vintage both in Prague and in Italy
